FoolProof's Workplace Initiative is designed for young people who enter the workplace directly from high school, and for other entry level workers with limited experience in safely navigating the free enterprise system.

It embeds credit union membership into the training process for entry level workers.

Consumers who enter the workplace directly without going to college or even graduating from high school face very tough realities:

• Many don't have core financial literacy skills.

• Many begin their first job with impaired credit.

Both the workers and the workplace are hurt by these realities.

A different approach than FoolProof's traditional modular programs:
The FoolProof Workplace programpresents the credit union as part of the education process. The program literally starts with enrolling students in a credit union. The credit union and its unique role as a not-for-profit partner with the consumer rather than simply a marketer, underpins the entire program.

Target Audience:
The program is designed for use by employee orientation classes at businesses with a large number of entry level workers, with teachers in special education classes, alternative high schools, career and technical schools, and with charter schools.

FoolProof Workplace brings flexibility and value to both instructors and students:

• Our programs can be used as part of an instructor's existing workplace readiness and employee orientation instruction.

• Instructors can incorporate single topics into their employee orientation programs.

• Portions of the programs can be used in a self-directed format that allows students to work through the program on their own.

A comprehensive program:

The FoolProof Workplace Program allows credit unions to provide schools and businesses the most comprehensive suite of teaching tools available today in the workplace skills arena.

The program include these elements:

1. A complete FoolProof Workplace website.
   This dynamic website serves as "Contact Central" for participating credit unions and for instructors.

   • Instructors will reach this website through a credit union website.

2. A special FoolProof Workplace Introductory Module for students.
   This video-driven, interactive module introduces the FoolProof team and the FoolProof theme of personal responsibility when it comes to money and life skills.

   • These modules address the particular financial problems facing entry-level workers.

   • The modules are based on FoolProof's five core financial literacy modules.

   • The modules feature completely custom videos and text aimed specifically at the workplace skills student.

   • The five introductory modules can be used as a "standalone" class project with the FoolProof Workplace introductory video.
